Can substance dependency cause an addict to have liver problems? When my daughter started using we tried to find an rehabilitation center center for her but the one we wanted to send her to would not take her because her liver was bad and this meant she wouldn't be able to do the program. Is there a program we can send her to that will help her overcome this addiction and get rid of the toxins stored in her body so she doesn't relapse? What kind of rehabilitation center will be best for her so that she can overcome this horrible substance dependency?

Drug and alcohol addiction took my son away from our family when he was only 18 years old. We didn't know at the time that he was even using drugs. We were completely oblivious to the signs and knew nothing about addiction and how an addict would act when they were using. We thought our son was just frustrated with school and dealing with finals was hard on him. If we had known he was dealing with a drug and alcohol addiction maybe we could have saved his life. It took years for my mother to admit she had a substance abuse. Her addiction caused much pain and sorrow in our family and childhood was not very pleasant for me.
